DESCRIPTION:One of the most magical free nights of the Mallorcan calendar. Palma’s Parc de la Mar transforms into a spectacular outdoor celebration for the eve of Sant Joan. The evening begins with a children’s fire run at 20:30\, followed by traditional ball de bot folk dancing and live music. At 22:30 the full correfoc begins — hundreds of fire-breathing ‘dimonis’ run through the streets with firecrackers and fireworks in a breathtaking display. Midnight concert follows. Wear cotton clothing and bring ear protection. SUMMARY:Changing of the Guard at Almudaina Palace
DESCRIPTION:A spectacular free ceremony in front of the Almudaina Royal Palace in Palma. Twenty soldiers of the Light Infantry Regiment dressed in period uniforms from 1808 march to the sound of drums and a lone piper\, recreating the historic changing of the palace guard. The parade forms an honour guard\, there is a review of arms and then the formal change of sentries takes place. Arrive early to secure a good position. Lasts approximately 30 minutes.
