What we do to keep El Tiquetero’s footprint small, and what we don’t claim.

Who this policy covers

This policy covers El Tiquetero, which is run by Kirkpatrick Consult Limited (“we”, “us”). It describes how we run our own business. The events listed on El Tiquetero are run by their organisers, who are responsible for their own environmental impact.

Hosting

Our website, including ticket sales and the organiser dashboard, is hosted by Fasthosts in its UK data centres. According to Fasthosts, these data centres:

• run on 100% renewable electricity;
• use HVO biofuel instead of diesel in their backup generators;
• hold ISO 50001 certification for energy management.

Because we use shared hosting, our website shares servers with other sites rather than running on hardware of its own.

Paperless tickets

Every ticket is emailed the moment it’s bought, with its own QR code, and organisers scan it from a phone at the door. Buyers don’t need to print anything, and organisers don’t need printed tickets or paper guest lists. A PDF version is available for anyone who prefers paper.

How we work

We’re a small team based in Palma de Mallorca. We work mainly online, and we help organisers by phone and email, so we travel little for work.

What we don’t claim

We haven’t measured El Tiquetero’s carbon footprint, and we don’t offset emissions. So we don’t describe El Tiquetero as carbon neutral, climate positive or “green”. The figures above are our hosting provider’s, not our own.

What we’ll do next

• Review this policy at least once a year, and update it when anything changes.
• Look at a supplier’s published environmental record when choosing a new one.
• Only make environmental claims we can back up.
