The end of August belongs to Felanitx. The Festes de Sant Agusti is one of Mallorca’s best correfocs, the island’s iconic fire run where hundreds of people dressed as demons tear through the streets with fireworks and crackers in a wall of noise, fire and total chaos. The kind of thing you watch the first time with your jaw open and run straight into the second time.

The night ends with a verbena, the traditional Mallorcan open-air dance party that goes until dawn. The whole town is out. Free to attend, impossible to forget.
